How to Evaluate Gettysburg Photos
Good photography takes several elements into consideration, including composition, contrast, and focus. Consider the lighting and angle. Battlefield pictures taken from the same place can look very different at different times of day and seasons of the year.
Special Effects
I have seen some really cool Gettysburg photographs that were taken using a double exposure to include men in Civil War uniforms. The result was ghostly! I am only an amateur photographer with a digital camera, but if someone would like to explain more about the process and share a sample, that would be super!
